It was Dog’s Day in a Cat Nation. The delighted screaming of animals
traveled over and between the tree. Screeching rubber erupted behind
the walls of green thick bushel. They casted everything under darkness with a leafy tinge.
Only what was in reach of the iron matchsticks that rose from the ground; glowing at
the very top, was safe from encroaching shadow. Occasionally there was a passer by;
crawling along the concrete path. Turning over dumpsters in search of something to drink;
scratching itself behind the ears at nosy fleas while it whispered in apocalyptic tongue.
Listing destructions verse for verse. How the invaders would come to rain fire down on the sinners.
The passerby left; unfulfilled. Traveling further down into area
where the trees grow thicker in bunches. Looming; they appeared as if they were
giant bustles of broccoli standing together in mass. Some of the loiterers had
the intelligence to look up; noticing a great heat and a burning kind of smell.
They looked up to see something disturbing the scenery. Beheld in their glassy
pools an approaching object, quickly plummeting down with fire to trace its
decent from the sky, illuminating the clouds and providing the texture burnt
ash to the grey heavens. Raving and dazed patrons were wise to vacate the vicinity
and be far from their approaching guest, knowing in their hearts that this was the end.
While all other inebriated followers of the Drunken Faculty had abandoned their posts;
there were still the regular of the cold Bencher Society of whom there was one member.
He had not heard the screams of help or those pleading for mercy,
nor did they pay any notice to the ones who were running or to those
that quickly abandoned the park with out second thought. It was in
the way of the Faculty to mingle with the Benchers, be that as it may
there was one wretched member who had forgone the code and actually
approached him while he slept as soundly as a bear. Shaking him
not more than three times before giving up, realistically, how could
anyone achieve to do more than that?
